I am SO excited about this project. It is obviously in Yadkin County, but this area is very special to me because my parents grew up here on farms. My Mother's parents owned a full working farm; from fields of tobacco, to big gardens and fruit trees and bushes, to chicken houses and smoke houses and milk and beef cows. I have so many fond memories of this county which has now turned into wine country making way for the new Arts Center which will host wine tastings, performances, art shows and an internet cafe.
Demolition and rebuilding is slated to begin this month. Yahoo!!!

Renovation in Atlanta
Full Kitchen, living room, stairs and basement. Before and during photos.
Antique white oak beams and old growth white oak beams will be used for structure and decorative features as this 70's ranch is transformed. Reclaimed barn wood will cover the ceiling between the reclaimed oak beams to form a French Chateau interior. More reclaimed materials will surround the hood in the kitchen emphasizing the natural use of beams to frame the windows in both the kitchen and the living room.
The flooring will be a rustic white oak with a true old fashioned ebonized treatment.
More to come!

Fineline Builders/Brown Residence
Floors are on their way! And what a great view while we are working.
This project should take us 3-4 weeks to install. There are many unique features and angles in each room, which gives the house a greater impact in it's overall appearance. This lends way to our select grade Antique Heart Pine's natural coloration and character from it's prior historic use in the south. We will put NC tobacco barn wood in the Cupola which over looks Lake Chatuge.
Stay tuned for more photos and updates.

Smith Residence
Wow, how satisfying after a year long wait!
Amazing Lake Lanier renovation and beautiful craftsmanship in these Walnut floors.
Darryl and Mike installed and finished the 8-12" boards just before Memorial day. Now the count down to the finish line when we go back and put on the final coats of Tung Oil.
Thank you Courtney and Jamie!

True Southern Tobacco Barn Wood

4-8" Hickory in the Florida Swamp
These are 4-8" Select and Character Grade hickory. The client did not want any knots and they were finished with Polyurethane. In fact, they originally wanted to stain the floor, but loved the wood so much they left it natural.
This house is in the Tate's Hell National Forest in the Panhandle of Florida near Apalachicola and St George Island. It was a real treat for Darryl to install these, as this is where he lived with his mother in the early 80's.
And an even better treat to see some old friends again.
