Disher-Jeffries Kitchen Remodel

This was one of those short and sweet kind of projects.  Phil and Carla were magnificent and their excitement over their new floors in the kitchen speaks volumes!  Notice Carla matched her cowgirl boots to the floor :)  You can see a little piece of the old floor just in front of the boots, we made a perfect match with the new floor, which is reclaimed heart pine in a country grade.

Yadkin Cultural Arts Center

Woo hoo!  Two years of designing, measuring and ordering the most fabulous tobacco barn wood and the installation begins!  In a town where my grandparents once grew tobacco like so many other rural farmers, wine vineyards are the new crop.  I am truly grateful to be a part of this history, certainely would make the family proud :)

The Yadkin Arts Council is building a 10,000sf state of the art curtural center.  Classrooms for workshops, internet cafe open daily, lobby and art gallery, outdoor courtyard for receptions, eating and wine tastings, full service catering kitchen, and offices for Arts Council staff.

6,000sf of wood piled up and ready to go.

Framed doors in the internet cafe.

Cabinets for bar built and wrapped in barn wood.

Wall cabinet built from barn wood next to the serving window and entrance to the kitchen.
Bar wrapped in barn wood waiting for tile and countertop.

Custom Lake Chatuge home by Fineline Builders

This home is simply spectacular! From the views of Lake Chatuge off the cupola to the custom staircases we buillt.  A one of a kind home with unique features on the deck, the wet bar in the cupola, the spacious basement and the lo-voltage electrical system; AMAZING! We installed a one of a kind reclaimed heart pine floor in 5"-10" widths with a custom blended stain and finished it with satin tung oil.  It was started last fall, you can see the in process pictures in my earlier posts, then last week Darryl went up to put on the final coats of tung oil.  Of course I followed with the kids to have some mountain time fun!  I ended up helping and let me tell you, this is STINKY work!  The end result is fantastic if you are considering it and well worth it over the years.

Did you see that fence?

This cedar fence was built for some great guys in Morningside.  It was their creation and Darryl built it with friend Ariel Martinez.  The iron detail was made from mild steel straps hand forged out of 3" flat bar.

Bubbling Creek is D.O.N.E. Incredible!!!

I can't tell you how much fun it was to work on this project!  Darryl really enjoyed working with the ebonizing on the floors and watching it change colors with each coat of oil.  The wood detail really makes this house!  It is on Bubbling Creek and the name speaks for itself, the sounds of the water truly make you feel you are in the mountains, right in the middle of Atlanta!  In this home we did the rustic 3"-9" white oak floors with a custom ebonized stain and finished them with satin tung oil.  We provided the white oak beams and the reclaimed white oak beams from a barn in Virginia.  The barn siding in the ceiling we obtained from a dairy barn in Illinois.  We did the paneling, custom stairs and vents as well.  The homeowner is so excited with his new space, he can't wait to begin Phase 2!

Wow! Buckhead home with Sweeney & Sons

We began this project spring of 2009.  The house is amazing and Rob has done a fantastic job with the details.  This past weekend the house was on the Junior League Tour of Kitchens.  It was so busy, I couldn't get a single picture of the kitchen!  The floors are 4-8" Hickory with a blend of select and rustic grades and finished with satin tung oil.

Almost done with Lake Chatuge house

We have it all installed and stained with 2 coats of tung oil. Pics aren't beautiful moved in professionals yet, but they do show excellent craftsmanship and beautiful reclaimed heart pine from NC. The best part is the custom staircase built by Tracy Brownfield. It was a Bob Timberlake style that the homeowner wanted and with Tracy's help it was recreated for her and looks amazing!!!
